| Boys eating their merienda at school
June 18
Monday, my roommate and I woke up at 7 o’clock AM. For the
thirty minutes until breakfast, we read and played cards. For breakfast, I had
a short stack of pancakes and so did most of the other people at my table. We
also had guayaba juice. At 8:15AM, we all went to school. I was placed in a
group with Will, J.P., Jake, and Griffin. We learned a few new verbs, as well
as words for fruits and vegetables. Last, we got assigned homework and went on
a tour of three different churches and a library. For lunch, we had a vegetable
soup and enchiladas. Then we had 2 hours to do homework, nap, or read. After
that, we went to an art gallery in a converted factory from 4 to 6. Later, we
will have dinner and then have 2 hours to rest.

El lunes, mi compañero de cuarto y yo nos despertamos a las siete. Por los treinta
minutos antes del desayuno, nosotros leímos y jugamos a cartas. Para el desayuno, yo pedí un montón de panqueques y muchas
personas de mi mesa también los pidió. Nosotros tomamos el jugo de guayaba. A
las ocho y cuarto, nosotros fuimos a la escuela. Fui colocado en un grupo con Will,
J.P., Jake, y Griffin. Nosotros aprendimos
algunos verbos nuevos y las palabras para las frutas y las verduras. Entonces,
nos dieron la tarea y hicimos un tour de tres iglesias y una biblioteca. Para
el almuerzo, nosotros comimos una sopa de verdura y enchiladas. Después del
almuerzo, tuvimos dos horas para hacer la tarea y tomar una siesta o leer. Después fuimos a una galería de arte en una
antigua fábrica. Más tarde, vamos a cenar y descansar por dos horas.
